For the past few months, I’ve stuck pretty close to home. I’m at work on a new novel. It’s about a woman in a 1994 Cape Breton village whose life is upended by the return of her childhood best friend, now a rock star.
Partly to work on the book and partly to revisit where I grew up, I’m spending part of April 2026 in Cape Breton. While I’m there, the McConnell Library in Sydney has graciously agreed to host an author talk and reading. On Thursday, April 16 (6:30-7:30pm), I’ll discuss my writing path, my novels (including the one in progress), and my discovery that it’s never too late to follow a childhood dream.
I look forward to meeting a few Cape Breton readers…and maybe some old friends!
